A lot of excellent artists know how to make music, and some even know to sing. But those who know how to make their instrument speak and convey some vital messages of life are indeed. Marielle Nordmann is one of these chosen few.
She is recognised and admired as a soloist throughout the world, and plays with the greatest performers: I. Stern, M. Rostropovitch, P. Tortelier, M. André; today with Y. Bashmet, F.R. Duchable, N. Radulovic
She has been the privileged partner of L.Laskine and J.P.Rampal.
She is guest soloist with the greatest orchestras : the London Symphony Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Salzburg Mozarteum, i Solisti Veneti, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra (Budapest), the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, les Solistes de Moscou, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orquesta Colón (Buenos Aires), the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France ... under great conductors such as S.Baudo, R.Benzi, M.Corboz, T.Guschelbauer, L.Hager, M.Janowski, A.Jordan, A.Lombard, Y.Menuhin, J.Neschling, ...

In parallel with this international career Marielle Nordmann has created musical spectacles in which she aims to combine different art-forms (mime, dance, comedy). She can also be a narrator. “La Musique et l’enfant” (Music and Child), “La harpe, vous connaissez ?” (What do you know about harp?), “La Harpe Apprivoisée” (The Tamed Harp)
, a musical story with masks and tap-dancing, “Tempéraments de feu” (Fire Temperament), “Voyage” (Journey),
She also created "Jataka Tale"
(2012) a musical theater for professionals and amateurs (M. P. Labrune - stage director)
Always looking for new instrumental partnerships, she initiates the creation of "Encuentro”
with the bandoneon player E. Garcia.
Her about 40 CD are recorded for Sony, EMI, Erato, Virgin, etc ...
She was co-founder of “Journées Internationales de la Harpe” in Arles, and Lily Laskine International Harp competition (Paris). Also she set up master classes for children at Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris and taught in Argentina, where she created the first national harp competition. Marielle Nordmann is currently artistic director of the festival "Les Musicales de Bagatelle" (Paris) as well as Foundation GBP.
She believes in “music for all, wherever possible”, e.g. in hospitals and prisons. For her, music enhances life and heightens emotion.
By her personality, sense of humour, vitality and human warmth, she is a great artist; by power and sound fullness as well as an exceptional musicianship and sensitivity, she is on the top of great performers.
